Couple of months ago Penang Gerakan chairman Datuk Dr Teng Hock Nan proposed to the government to allow former communist leader Chin Peng to return to Malaysia. Right after that, people all over the country condemn his proposal. Most ministers, Government agencies, NGOs and others show the same response to his idea - an absolute NO.
Well, of course it is a NO. The people know that the government will never allow anyone from PKM to come back here. Those who condemns Teng Hock Nan know this for fact. Even Teng Hock Nan knows. But why all of a sudden, Chin Peng name arised?
Please take note that the No 1 campaign initiated by our PM is 1Malaysia. In order to do so, he need to create a unity among Malaysians to go against The Other. The Other who is being hated by all Malaysian races. The Other who is not in control of others, has no authority or jurisdiction; who can never literally threat us or go against us in any medium. Voalla...Chin Peng is the chosen one.
No one can and should or dare to agree with the idea of bringing him back here, not even the opposition - not on this issue, not now. What Anwar Ibrahim normally do, if asked, is to disagree with the proposal and then maneuver the issue into his benefits. But not on this issue. He got his people became victim of the Chin Peng gangs too.
Chin Peng would never be allowed to come back to Malaysia. Even Chin Peng knows this too i believe. He knows for sure he will not come back here for he never regretted what he has done to our country and the people. In fact he wrote in 2003, "Every generation shapes its dreams. But you pay for your dreams. We certainly paid for ours. I do not regret having fought for what I considered - and still consider a just cause."
By creating an issue towards Chin Peng, we Malaysians regardless of race, religion or political beliefs, stand together and fight against the so-called proposal to allow Chin Peng back to Malaysia. Hence, we are another step closer to build 1Malaysia. Who & what after Chin Peng?...
